Embracing My Story—And Helping Others Do the Same
My name is Cleonix. (Pronounced CLEE-OH-NEESE)
For a long time, I thought about changing my name—to fit in, blend with the crowd, feel like I belonged. Over time, I realized it’s exactly the opposite: my name is who I am, and I carry it with pride. It connects me to my great-grandmother, who immigrated from Italy with resilience, curiosity, and a sense of possibility, qualities I try to bring to everything I do.
I’m a multidisciplinary creative specializing in photography, digital storytelling, and visual communication. I focus on creating work that feels authentic, inclusive, and human. Whether it’s capturing moments on my travels, sharing stories of different cultures, or exploring new ideas through photography and writing, I try to bring care, curiosity, and depth to everything I make.
I’m deeply connected to my community in the South Bay of Los Angeles, where I call home. I’ve carved a path into environmental advocacy through writing sustainability articles for local organizations, volunteering with environmental and ocean advocacy groups, supporting student-led water testing programs, and even lobbying for ocean protection laws. Early on, I realized that spaces like environmentalism weren’t always easy to access, which is why I’m passionate about inviting people into conversations and communities where they’re often not represented. These experiences fuel my work and my perspective- they remind me that inclusivity is at the heart of every movement.
Outside of my community work, I run a personal creative travel photography account, where I share the places I explore and the stories I encounter along the way. Traveling, discovering new cultures, trying new foods, and meeting people from all walks of life continually inspire my work and my approach to storytelling.
I’ve never fit neatly into one box, and that is my greatest strength. I’m a storyteller, photographer, traveler, artist, and advocate, and my work reflects that- layered, thoughtful, and made to connect with people in meaningful ways.
